No payer route is open yet: today Payerworks writes and checks your files and you send them on your current connection. As a payer’s route opens, the plan is a direct connection where the payer offers one and a second route through the gateway the payer sponsors behind it, chosen claim by claim, so an outage at one door is a slower morning, not a stopped month.
Enrollment tracked per payer, per billing entity
Claims, remittances and the submitter identifier for each payer sit on the row for each of your billing entities. What is live, what is waiting on the payer and what is waiting on you is written on the row, and a wait past its days is raised once.
Remittances that arrive matched
A remittance is matched by the identifiers the payer sent back, never by an amount that happens to agree, and a line whose money is already on the claim is closed rather than posted twice. A reversal is paired with its original before anyone reads it.
Every acknowledgment said as the fix
A rejected file names the segment, the claim and the correction on the claim itself. The code is kept for the record; the sentence is what your team reads.
Claim status without a phone call, wherever the payer answers
Today Payerworks writes the 276 status question and explains the 277 answer you bring back. Once a payer’s route opens, status will be asked on the interval that payer has earned from its own past answers, and the Medicare contractors in the batch shape they take.
